Welcome
Hey there, I’m Kia. Life is busy, so if you are taking time out of your day to explore my website, I want to thank you. I also want to congratulate you because if you landed here, you must be looking to continue your growth journey, and that is certainly something to be excited about. Now, the question is, am I your person?
I encourage you to look around this site to learn more about me, my background, my work, and my results. If you connect with who I am and what I do, let’s talk. Schedule a discovery call with me so we can get to know each other. I would love to learn about your goals and what may be getting in the way of you becoming your most amazing self. After we talk, if you determine that we are “GOAL MATES,” I would be honored to serve as your coaching partner as you DREAM IT, DESIGN IT, and DO IT.
Background
Kia is a dynamic leader and coach with more than 20 years of professional experience in various industries. She has spent the last 15 years as a Human Resources leader in Fortune 500 companies including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Freddie Mac, and Monster Worldwide. Specific areas of expertise include Executive Coaching, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, and Military Career Transition.
In 2018, Kia decided to step away from her successful career at Lockheed Martin to launch Master Mine Consulting. Although her work in Diversity & Inclusion was meaningful, Kia knew it was time for a change of pace and also felt she was being called to use her gifts differently. After obtaining certification as a Personal and Executive Coach through Valorie Burton’s Coaching and Positive Psychology (CaPP) Institute, Kia began enthusiastically coaching clients, speaking, and hosting empowerment workshops in addition to continuing her work as an Inclusion Strategist.
Kia graduated with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University in Washington, DC and has obtained certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She is also a certified facilitator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).
Kia has previously served on the boards of The Good Works Coalition, National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), and the DC Metro Business Leadership Network. In 2017, she was elected as President and Board Chair of The Arc Prince George’s County and also serves on the Advisory Board of the DC Metro Business Leadership Network.
Kia is a proud military spouse and a lifelong resident of Maryland, where she resides with her husband and two daughters.
“Kia partnered with us to bridge the gap between the leadership and our African American community. Kia’s work laid the foundation for us coming together to create a better future for our people and organization. Without Kia, we would not have been able to move forward.”
